Memorial Day Weekend in Moab

Greg, Shaun, Wave, and I went to Moab over Memorial Day weekend. It was a BLAST! We had a lot of fun together. I had only been to Moab once when I was 13. I don't think Wave had really ever been there. But both the boys had been there plenty of times. We stayed overnight Friday and Saturday, and then left on Sunday afternoon. We went to the Arches and to the Canyonlands. We also went to this fun water hole where Greg and Shaun jumped off a rock into some super shallow water. We had so much fun exploring and enjoying the beautiful scenery. We love spending time with Shaun and Wave!

This is on our way to the Arches. It was absolutely gorgeous.

There are so many random huge rocks just sticking way up in the Arches National Park. This one was pretty impressive.

This is probably my favorite picture that we took. It is just breathtaking.

Here's us in front of Balanced Rock. It's pretty impressive.

More pictures of the beautiful desert. It doesn't even look like a desert. There's so much green!

South Window Arch

Here we all are in front of North (left) and South (right) Window Arches. Pretty cool!

This arch is called Turret Arch.

This is called the Garden of Eden. We found it!

Greg and Shaun scoping the cliffs out next to Delicate Arch.

Delicate Arch. This thing is massive and so awesome. There are pretty steep slopes on 3 sides of it.

A pretty view coming back on the trail from Delicate Arch.

Shaun and Wave on the trail from the cool water hole we found.

What's camping without a fire?

Our view at our campsite.

Wave and her tent.

Our trusty little tent. Yep, it's the same one as Shaun and Wave's.

The sunset on our second night.

On Sunday morning, we woke up to pouring rain on our tent. Luckily, we had our fly on, so we didn't get wet. Getting reading for the day was quite a challenge though. We ended up clearing up our camp spot in the rain and moved over next to a tree. Greg and Shaun then tied a tarp from the back of our car to the tree so we could have some covering while Wave and I cooked breakfast. The campsite was SUPER muddy, and all of our shoes were completely wet, muddy, and ruined. It was a fun little adventure.

This picture is of Wave, Shaun, and Greg trying to wipe off their muddy shoes on those rocks.

And these are Wave's shoes AFTER trying to wipe them off. Apparently it wasn't very effective. I really like the cigarette butt and rocks that are still there.

The rain eventually stopped, and we decided to go to the Canyonlands and check it out. It was so pretty! It really is named accurately; there are many beautiful canyons everywhere.

This is Greg and Shaun on top of Mesa Arch. This arch hangs over a very steep drop, probably about 400 feet down. These two muchachos were very brave and decided to go stand on top of it, right over the cliff.

Family photo in front of Mesa Arch.

I was a little freaked out at how close we were getting to the cliff.

That's what the arch is stretched over. Pretty scary!

We got home from Moab on Sunday night and had a little time to rest. Then, the next day, we went with Shaun and Wave to Wave's parents' house for a barbecue and pool party. It was awesome! I really love Wave's parents; they are so great and so welcoming! We felt right at home.

I just had to sneak this picture in here. This was a sunset in Provo on Tuesday night. Gorgeous, huh?!

We seriously had such a fun weekend. We are so blessed to be able to do things like this. On to the next adventure (Greg's birthday this coming weekend)!
